Uploading large number of pictures to host - Error! Exceeds CPU Quota

Do you guys have experienced an error when you're uploading a large number of pictures to coppermine gallery?

I'm hosted in Bluehost and everytime I upload large volume of photos, my sites can't be accessed for several minutes.

I have asked support about this and this is their reply:

You are limited to 40 cpu seconds of cpu time in a 1 minute window. This is cumulative. So within 60 seconds if you have 400 tasks taking 0.10 seconds each you will exceed your quota. Then ALL tasks will fail until after the tasks stop for a five minute window. Then the error will clear.

You must limit your usage to less than 40 CPU seconds for each 1 minute window. (A CPU second is a normal second for each process. IE: if you have 10 processes running all at the same time for one second its not one second, it counts as 10. One second for each process. Everything is cumulative.)

But are there ways so this won't happen again?

    Thanks

I guess gallery supports importing of images as zip files through FTP...it'd put minimal load.

Please check the script website/manual for alternative import/upload methods.

Better if you can change your host. An ideal NON overselling host does not limits you for the CPU usage unless you go over the % usage limit which is generally high, about 5-10%.

In BlueHost, it seems to not mentioned on the site but 40 seconds is about 2.5% of cpu for 30 seconds?

I get this error while uploading pictures to the gallery.

I really like bluehost so I can't move out so I'm just trying to find other solutions in uploading pictures.

Bluehost and its sister company are being doing this from quite some time now :)
