Uploading Custom Logo to Wordpress Server

I recently ran a contest and as a result now have a custom logo integrated into the header background ready to upload to my new Wordpress blog. I have installed a free template titled "Blak Magik" on my Wordpress server; GoDaddy. I am fairly new to Wordpress. I uploaded the image file for my new header with logo to the files on my server. The file is located under wp-content/themes/blakmagik and is named header.gif. When I mouse-over the file, I see a thumbnail of the image, but for some reason the header image is not showing up on my Wordpress blog. Have I done something wrong or am I leaving out a step?

    Can someone please help me?

Here is a link to the site I am building fyi.

I had uploaded the new logo and header image into the Parent Directory. All I had to do was move it to the Image Directory.

Then I had to edit the CSS to remove the old tag line. No big deal.

Maybe someone who is experiencing a similar problem will get some benefit from this thread.

you can upload the file via the wordpress admin (under media i believe) and then use the theme editor (appearence > editor) and add it into the header using html code
