Get 404 error when typing the location of the phpbb3 folder into my browser, I saw a video of how to install phpbb3 and I did everything the person did, except when I type in the browser I get a 404 and he gets the wonderful phpbb3 install page, haha. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is your domain pointing to the server/folder?

Did you upload the whole "phpBB" folder, or did you manually upload every folder into the root?

If you just uploaded your folder, you're most likely to find the install page at "mydomain.tld/phpBB2 or 3)"

If you manually uploaded the folders to the root of your public html folder, it should be "mydomain.tld"

Is your domain pointing to the server/folder? Does this mean I have to be pointing the domain (at the place originally purchased) to wherever my hosting is. My domain must be pointing to my hosting right now or I wouldn't be seeing a website, but how do I point the forum page?

Thanks to everyone for the help. I think I finally got it. What was happening , I believe , is that I was typing in phpbb3 instead of phpBB3.

I told you, you must be very specific when doing these as one mistype may cause 404/403 error(s).

I believe you will learn them very quick; starting with a forum is a great way to get to know basic PHP/MYSQL and not to mention all error codes and so on.
