Upload speed as a criterion for positioning?

I have read in various blog that Google would be using the speed and load a site as a criterion for positioning a Web site, which I think is logical and in fact I considered it long and do it.

I worry that in my case, I WebMate tools make the site slow, slower than 80% of all websites, which has puzzled me, because I have worked hard to improve the speed of my site.

I would appreciate it if someone a little time on me some suggestions to improve site load.

    thanks in advance!

I heard this too and I believe it is already considered by Google right now.
Regarding WebMate, I don't think it should cause you too much trouble or have a negative impact on your rankings.

How long does your site takes too load?

    Regards,
    Steve

In your title you mention upload speed. I guess you mean (down)load speed of the page?

If you have read it through carefully you should noticed already - This one is not going to be a big ranking factor anyway. Google does count more towards relevancy and quality of links and others 200+ factors. :)

The Google Webmaster Tools site speed tool can be helpful. However, site speed is just one of the 200 factors Google looks at when ranking websites. Focus on creating quality content that your users wish to read.

It does make sense. If I come across a site too slow to load, I will lose my patience and close the tab window.
