Upload and resize image script

Hello,

I'm trying to develop a script that will allow a user to upload a picture to a web server as well as automatically resizing it and allocating the file path of the picture to the user's account.

The user will then be able to see the picture they have uploaded when they view their profile.

Any ideas?

The reason why I've posted here is because the searches I did on Google didn't supply me with a script which can perform all of the things I require. I was therefore wondering if anyone here would be able to help.
