upgrading to 3.1?

hey all..i own the site,http://www.upyg.com/ and was thinking of upgrading versions of phpld..Is there a way to know if my current template will work on the upgrade,and will i suffer any loss of data in site?

 

Which version you are using atm?

 

Download 3.1 and check the change log file. ( or read the forum thread)

I updated my template from 3.05 to 3.1 and there were only 2 changes (i guess)

Seems like u are using 2.1 so you would have to do few more

 

Make a backup of the phpLD database you current have... then its simply a matter of uploading and overwriting all the new files from the new version and running the installer as you did when installing originally. All your links etc should still work however its obviously good to have that backup as previously mentioned. If your upgrading to phpLD3.x i recommend getting access to the phpLD support forum which cost $10. There are obvious changes between 2.x and 3.x and a few changes between the 3.x versions as well (especially the new 3.2.0 version).

 

If your using version 2.x, most likely your template will not be 100% compatible with 3.1.

 

thanks all for the suggestions....yea,i think maybe the template will not work with 3.1 so i may be on the lookout for a new one

If the template is for 3.06,you'll just need to do a few modifications!!

 

Can you tell us those modifications ?

thanks all for the links..i will be attempting this chhange over in the next week or so..i want to add a bunch of killer mods as well when i change it..ie-an0ns deeplink mod,sponsor mod and the such
