Upgrading from phpBB to vBulletin

    When upgrading from phpBB to vBulletin, the URL's of every post, thread, and forum will change.

    Does the upgrade script include a .htaccess mod to redirect visitors to the new URL's, or are you stuck until Google (etc...) crawls the site anew?

    No, it doesn't.

    I just went through this on a site, I added 301 redirects from:

    viewforum.php -> vBulletin index.php
    viewtopic.php -> vBulletin index.php
    viewonline.php -> vBulletin online.php
    calendar.php -> vBulletin calendar.php
    faq.php -> vBulletin faq.php
    search.php -> vBulletin search.php

    2 weeks after the upgrade, with Googlebot visiting everyday, the majority of the listings in the index are still from phpBB.

    No the Impex tool doesnt.

    I just used a custom 404 error page to capture the traffic.
