    Hey all,

Just a quick and hopefully simple question here....

I'm running a joomla 1.0.x installation. I need to upgrade from php 4 to php 5. Is there anything that I should be aware of before doing so? I have everything backed up, but I'm wondering if there will be any issues I may run into with the upgrade.

    Thanks..
    Dave

There shouldn't be, it should work fine. If you have root access, you may need to clear the /tmp of sess_* files after, but you probably won't even need to do that.

If it's just a matter of switching it through your hosting account, there's no harm in trying, it won't do anything to your files. You can easily switch back to PHP 4 if you find something's not right, I couldn't see anything going wrong unless you have old and outdated scripts.
