Upgrading from English Windows XP to Portuguese Windows Vista?

Just wondering, is it possible? I want to sell my English laptop to my aunt, but she needs it in Portuguese since she's Brazilian. If I was to buy a copy of Windows Vista (Portuguese) here, would the install work smoothly? Could I get the upgrade version, or would I need the complete version?

    Thanks

You can't upgrade windows to another windows in different language. You have to buy complete version for that.

There wasn't any need to bump us this old thread.

But in case anyone is interested, I never sold the laptop as it wouldn't be worth and it's good enough
