I'm considering getting a 23.6" 16:9 monitor to replace my 19" Philips 190B. The 23.6" is only about 5mm larger in height. But obviously offers way more horizontal screen space for things like Photoshop/After Effects etc... Is it worth it? For those of you that went from 19" to 24", are you happy with the upgrade?
Depends on what you use it for really.. I think dual monitors would be a better option than more screen space! Then again a nice fat monitor would do justice as well
No point at all, I am trying to do the opposite to get a smaller monitor, nowadays the monitors are getting crazy, too large I think, very straining on the neck.
If you are thinking to upgrade, then go for LED monitors. I do have 24" Benq LED. I have no words to describe. Awesome clarity with sharp images. Yeah, It really worth for me....
Y'know, I couldn't really see the point in going up from 19" then I upped my monitor to a 'whatever size I bought' bigger one (sorry, can't remember what size it is ) when I built my PC - I think it's 24" but I could be wrong. Anyhoo, the point is, it makes a difference, especially when you're shuffling apps about the screen. So much more room and so much easier to work with the bigger screen, imo.
I had a 17" 4:3 monitor and it was alright, but I upgraded to a 19" HD widescreen and I think it's the perfect size. 24" is good for a TV up close but it might strain your eyes if you sit in front of it all day
I upgraded and it has definitely been worth it for me. But...I've always had the opinion - "the bigger the better." I bought a netbook for my daughter and my system looks like a monster compared to hers! LOL
I've already put in my order I'll probably end up running dual monitors (new 23.6" and my old 19"). I've gotta store my 19" somewhere, may as well be on my desk
Thanks for the tips, I should check it out. I always prefer Samsung over anything else when it comes to monitor.
Have you ordered Philips! again I am also using 19" View Sonic from 2 years it gives great results and very much satisfied! upgrading from 19" to 24" always can give boost to your working interface and accessibility over many programs at a time
$198 AUD, AOC 2436VWH: Click link Reviews are good enough (Whilrpool forum etc), especially considering the price. I bought a new PC while I was at it ... there's going to be a big bundle of stuff arriving from PCCG any day now
i was in same situation when i got my 24' widescreen monitor. Initially i hesitated to upgrade but when i got one i love working on it. I ended up placing my 19' monitor next to 24' on the same table and using it as TV so that i could work watching TV.
