Are there guidelines for upgrading the antennas on PCI Cards and/or routers - Can you attach too big of an antenna?

For instance, could I put three of these

    On my Buffalo WLI-PCI-G300N:

Connection wise, it would work (Uses RPA-SMA). Would I have a far stronger and more consistent signal (I am more after boosting up for streaming media within my wireless network - I realize that it doesn't change the Broadband speeds coming into the house)

One more point - I have an N router and N PCI Card but getting a signal around 100 mbps (No where near 300 mbps) so I'm thinking there is room for improvement.
