I have upgraded from WP 2.71 to 2.8 on one site and I'm testing it. So far so good. I can't say if it will be a problem with upgrading from older versions as I keep my stuff up to date. It's pretty much the same to me as 2.7.1 as far as functionality goes. There are some nice touches like using the links across the top of the Plugins screen to only display ALL, ACTIVE, RECENTLY INACTIVE, or INACTIVE plugins. Kind of helps organize. I'm sure many will like the Theme Search options. Won't matter to me as I use Premium Themes and have my preferred vendors. I watched the Video of new features and they all seem nice, and the blog I am testing does seem to be working faster. I'm having no problem with the plugins I'm using and some of the vendors have already updated to 2.8 compatibility mode. I was unable to use the WP Update Feature so I ended up doing it all with FTP the long way... which is probably better anyway because my Theme puts some files in different places and I wouldn't want to accidentally overwrite them... and I'm not really sure how the auto update feature works. I'll probaby update the rest of my blog portfolio over the coming weeks. And as they recommend DISABLE your plugins and backup before you attempt to update. I did also have one plug in that had to be reactivated from the Plug In Menu and the Menu in the Nav Column. Wordpress just keeps getting better and better. Makes me wonder why I still fight with some of my Joomla Sites. Now if only the Core would include Category and Page Ordering options.
Well ya when I logged in, it asked me to upgrade and I did it. It was easy and it got upgraded in seconds. Any new thing in this upgrade? - Digital -
You have upgraded to new version 2.8 so you have to tell us which new things you have notice there in this version of WP Why you are asking us ? DON.
I updated my disaster preparedness blog last night to the latest version. Everything went fine, there no error or problems to report. However, after the install one of my plugins was disabled because "it does not have a header" - what ever that means. But looking at my plugin list, I do not see which one was deactivated. My seems to run a little faster. The comments at the wordpress.org site said that the new engine should display pages a little faster because of changes made to the engine and the way templates are parsed. I do not see any major changes to the control panel. Everything looks basically the same. Now I only have 4 more sites to update.
I upgrade one and find widgets option is not so cool must has add link in front of each widget .. ppl who r using less resolution like me will face problem in dragging widget.
Upgrade to WP 2.8 is very fast and easy. There are no problems. All plugins and themes are compatible. I do not need backup my wp blogs to upgrade to WP 2.8
Has anybody upgraded to wordpress 2.8 and had any plugins which have stopped working e.g. Headspace2 ? I installed the Headspace2 on a test blog which i had upgraded to wordpress 2.8 before and the Headspace2 plugin does not work[the plugin has instaled fine but it does not display its settings so i can not use it], so am curious whether other people have had this problem or not ? I do not know why u ppl r not getting error but here is my client story: Before 2 days his blog version was 2.7.1 and today it is 2.8 i can use all features before v2.8 but now i can not use quick edit feature , add img in posts features and when clicking on posts dropdown menu not shows. Do u ppl also facing this issue My own blog, yesterday i upgrade for testing after that i downgrade wp v becoz of archieve feautures.

I have upgraded all my blogs to Version 2.8. The good thing for me is I can easily manage/install thremes and plugins.
i have upgraded one of my blog to 2.8. no issues. Dashboard functionality is better and better. Widgets too. Seems to be working good so far
I upgraded one of my blogs and I was forced to change themes as the theme started showing fatal errors. Also a couple of plugins that I really like don't work with 2.8.
Update on the Headspace 2 plugin - it conflicts with the Ozh' Admin Drop Down Menu plugin not with wordpress 2.8 while i was testing Headspace 2 on Wordpress 2.8 After contacting the author and informing him about the problem, he has now fixed the plugin, which means it is now compatable with the Ozh' Admin Drop Down Menu plugin. Jalpari - The quick edit features seems to work fine for me in Wordpress 2.8
