Upgrade windows7 64 bit - query

    i am using win7 RC 32 BIT in my PC based AMD ATHLON X2 250.
    config.
    500gb HDD, 3GB ram,512 MB Graphics card etc.

    Which is best for me windows7 32 bit or 64 bit?
    help me to select.

    sure your be fine on a 64 bit, i've got 2 150gb HD's and a 3GB ram, i've been running win 7 64 bit for a good few weeks now no problem :) check your settings to see if your computer can run 64bit

    only go 64bit if u have 4gb of memory or more

    Not necessarily . While indeed you have to run 64bit if you have 4gb or more RAM, it is not a must to have 4gb or more to be able to run a 64bit OS and it wouldn't be useless either.

    I say it wouldn't be useless because having a 64bit OS adds to the safety of your pc since most viruses/trojans/etc are coded for 32bit systems and also increases (theoretically at least) your pc's performance since it fully uses the processor's registry. Practically, you won't see much of a difference in performance since highly solicitating 64bit apps are just a few.

    Yeap if you have 4Gb RAM or more you can use x64, so for 3GB RAM x86 is good!
