I did everything as said in the following link: http://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress But right now, when I am trying to log in to the WP-admin page, but it's redirecting to the following link: http://www.copy-e-writing.in/blog/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=/blog/wp-admin/ Please help.
Looks like the upgrade didn't complete. Possibly a file was skipped in the upload? It seems to be still looking to complete the function. Is this a single installation, or multisite?
I uploaded everything! Deleted the old files and uploaded the new files. Even deleted some of the plugins, to see if that was creating the problem. Didn't do anything with the wp-config.php or .htaccess files. Any idea why this might happen?
I don't know. At this point I'd probably be going through the installation folder by folder to see if there was a file dropped somewhere in the upload. If you are sure that the database is functioning properly and you can't get into admin, that's pretty much all you have left. Edited: I just checked it, and it looks to be going now. You need to update the database.
Okay, I clicked the "Update Wordpress Database" button. It said, database successfully updated and showed "Continue" button. But when I click the "Continue" button, it's redirecting to the same "Update Database" button page.
Yes, yes they do! They support this version as well. Do you have any idea why they may be repeating the loop?
Seriously. Check your wp-admin folder and MAKE SURE that all of the files are accounted for and everything that is supposed to be there, is there. Check EVERY subfolder. Don't rely on what you think. Manually open them up and look. Compare it to a fresh set of WP files on your computer and make sure.
Don't know. I'd probably double check all of the folders, and if I see no problem, do a fresh install and try it again. If yous till can't get it, I'd see if the host can help.
One thing I've noticed, is that if your host offers one click install, trying to do it manually won' t always work. I've noticed this with a lot of hosts.
I understand that they said you could, but if they have a one click install, that's what I'd do. That way, they have to support any issues because you are using their script.
No, in my case, they don't do that. One more thing, I see that I have 11.41 MB database, and no space is apparently available. Should that be the problem in upgrading?
Could be. It could be a lot of things. Bad database. Slow server. Corrupt tables. Missing files. Bad plug in. Bad theme. It's just too hard to give you a direct answer. This is one of those hands on troubleshooting problems that you'll have to double check everything. Although reaching the limit of your database space is not good for any occasion. That is big a problem. Not sure if it's THE problem. And you can't know either until you get some more space. I've never heard of that before. You definitely can't run WordPress with limited DB space. That's just crazy.
I believe that is the problem. This is what the host answered when I asked him the same question: "Yes, that could cause an issue as well, but at the time of your previous post the database size was under the quota, which is why I have not mentioned this. Since the MySQL Database quota for the account is exceeded, Updated and Insert commands are not longer allowed in the database, thus no new information could be imported in the database. In order to solve this issue you will have to revise your databases content via the phpMyAdmin application, accessible by clicking on phpMyAdmin icon via the MySQL Databases menu and to remove some old and not useful information. Another solution in this situation would be to buy an upgrade:"MySQL Quota" via the Add Services/Upgrades menu of your account control panel Upgrades section or to upgrade your entire hosting plan via the Change Plan menu to a higher one that would also allow you use more space for your database. The price of the upgrades will be listed for you automatically once you choose the desired upgrade. Useful article on how to use phpMyAdmin application could be found via the Help > F.A.Q menu: How do I access and edit my database online? Is phpMyAdmin available? - https://newcp.freehostia.com/help/view-article/?id=97 Once the database size is reduced under the allowed quota for the account you will have to allow up to a couple of hours so all rights for your database will be retrieved and your site will become fully operational." Do you think, if I remove some themes and plugins, will it relieve some space? Then perhaps, I will buy more space thereafter. What do you think? And tell you something, you are being of great help to me, thanks so much.
