updating old post about "top 10" things would be better or create new post ?

i have many top 10 stuff post for example "top 10 mobiles, top 10 apps" etc
now i am thinking they are old now. so do i update them or simply create another post?

 

Always create a new post.

 

Create the new post because the title of the post remains the same in Google search so i recommend to write a new article with new title.

 

old post...google doesn't like duplicate content

 

It really depends on the audience you have. If you have established a decent base of readers who actually take time to read your content, then I would go for updating the old post and dropping it on to the front page. People love it when old lists and guides get updated as it shows that you are serious and you care about what you do.

If you are thinking purely about search engines, then a new one with completely unique content would do the trick, although an update to the older one may work just as well

I would create a new post, but you can also link back to the old post if you want people to be able to see what has been changed more easily.
