    Hey All:

If you are a fan of a particular blog and you are visiting the blog often to check for updates, how often would you want that blog to be updated so as to keep you interested in the blog?

There's some excellent blogs out there, and everyday updates are good (if there's time to view all of them everyday) but, all bloggers being human (we hope), off days and weeks off at a time are totally cool. These people have to have holidays too, right?

It's the bloggers who go holiday and still find the time/ method/ inclination to update that impress me - but then it should be a "go with the flow" sorta thing... creativity is an impulse thing.. :)

I like to try and update my blog at least once a week, but I don't want to write something boring just for the sake of updating my blog. I usually wait until I have something interesting to blog about. :D

I agree: blogging for blogging's sake would be a mistake (I should write lyrics!) I want to update my blog often, but then again If I update too often then the quality content I offer will get diluted and I certainly don't want that. I am trying to find the right balance.

Thanks for all the input Vicious & Lever. More comments welcome.

I try and brainstorm in notepad every week or so of ideas and topics I'd like to write about this way when it comes down to updating I always have something to write about. I agree though a boring topic doesn't help at all and the more they build up the more visitors your lose.

    No doubt.

Looks like twice a week is winning, which is a very nice fit for my blogging habits. I am hoping for more votes in this poll.

Well it also depends upon the topic of your blog. If you are giving some tips then you can relax as its the content that matters but if it's about general happenings then you better be punctual according to me.

quality is more important than quantity. 1 good blog post per week is much better than 1 crap post everyday.

Quality over quantity indeed - but both is optimal. I like to update mine at least every other day. My personal blog has been set on the back burner for now tho and it might get 1 or 2 posts a week until I can get my other 2 sites up and running.

As for reading blogs... I really don't.

I use auto posting blog software, as I like mine updated twice a day. You know some people live on the net and are always hopping and chatting and so forth. I really do like my content to keep changing if not for the members for the search engines.
