Updating a WP Plugin to include rel="nofollow"

    Got a bit of a problem I can't solve:

I have a plugin that has an external link. I want to add the rel="nofollow" (due to a G unnatural penalty).

I deactivated plugin. Clicked on edit. Added the rel="nofollow" in the right place. Clicked Update File. Then get redirected my website's home page and the edit does not save when i go back and check.

    Any insights?

    Which plugin is it?
Provide a link to it so we can see what we're dealing with?

Probably a cache problem, If you are using a caching plugin, you should deactivate it first before you do any changes to your site

Its this plugin http://www.joeswebtools.com/wordpress-plugins/born-on-this-day/ (its a history website)
It wasn't that; BUT, I did deactivate all plugin and then was able to save the edit. Not sure why I did not try that sooner.

    THANKS
