So if i make changes etc to my website, how long before google will include the changes in its indexed pages of my site?

will this happen quickly? Google crawls my site on a daily basis.

    many thanks

There are many factors involved for Googlebots crawling rate.

    1. Inbound links / Backlinks - You do know already what I mean :)
    2. Website content update history - If your website has been updated daily for 2-4 weeks regularly. Googlebots will tune their crawling rate to matched up on your frequence.
    3. Unique content - Just copy other peoples content and paste up on your website is useless.

If Googlebot is a frequent visitor to your website, then it shouldn't take more than a couple of days to index the updated content.

This depends on googlebot crawling rate / importance of your website. Index page get updated quicker, update for internal pages can atke some time.

It should only take a few days, but if you are wanting to measure the impact of SEO changes, you may want to wait a bit longer. Just because new info is showing up in the cache doesn't mean it has been included in all the ranking algorithm calculations.

The content addition trends of the websites is going to be the key in here. Take forums for example, since they are getting updated several times a day, so Googlebot too is visiting them a lot on a daily basis but if one site is updated once a year, so as you may guess Google may not be that willing to regularly access it.

Generate a sitemap.xml file and submit to your Google Webmaster Tools account. I think within the xml file you can specify how often your website should be indexed. But ensure you're updating it as often as you say in the xml file; else Googlebot will just use its own calculation based on your update history.
