Update Your Directory Details Listing Page Direct, No more PM's, No more E-Mails

I am always wanting to make changes to my details page in many directories we have submitted to, but often the whole PM or Email process seems such a long process maybe waiting hours for/or responding to PM's etc due to time/date etc constraints

So to get round that on

That's an excellent idea! But how do you prevent abuse - ie someone updating their competitor's listing?

Have seen some really creative ideas at Forplex. I love it.

 

Good point which we have considered we have an approval gateway before it goes live and the listing Update has to be checked by email verification check

So no abuse as the email will be verified

 

Very good option and or mod as i would like to be able to offer my previous PAID clients the opportunity to update their Deep links and such so...

Did you make the mod or anon? also like onlinedude suggested you may want to visably approva all so that bad things dont happen..

But once again your ahead of the pack... congrats to you!

I think people should provide his submission email that would do help.

Nice one Pete, this is a really obvious requirement to any serious directory and one I've always thought should be integrated into the script. Forplex goes from strength to strength with quality innovation I'd love to rep you, but I still can't.

Confused - Why would a submitter update his listing ? (its only necessary for BID for position directory)

Ask I asked you before - Can you make an update mod that can allow owner to update listing to deep links or Featured links at some price difference ?

 

Well each to their own thoughts but I know of hundreds of site owners who will want to update their sites

Example if you have a hotel and you put an extension on with 10 new Rooms would you not want that information released
In fact we have a travel directory that does just that since we launched in 2000

So the answer in general terms is that the majority of reviews with details page will at some time want to make some changes this feature gives them that opportunity

But I guess the answer is right there with the update feature which has been up less than a day and has already been used many times

Ability for updating listing is a must feature in directory. Site owner should have this power, perhaps they want to change title, contact info, phone, logo, pricing, etc.

Preventing abuse can be done by applying link password that sent through owner email. Owner can only update their listing using this link password. Or by implementing membership system where owner need to login before updating their listings.

Also, I agree with malcolm, all listing updates should go through approval process again to prevent bad things.

Can you enable features like update to Featured link and adding deep links on your update mod ?
