I am looking for CMS that works strictly via email and SMS (mobile short text messages). Anyone come across this?

Strictly? Doubt you ever will come across one.

A CMS which *can* be updated via email/SMS might exist, but not one that can *only* be updated by them.

Besides, a basic plug-in to support the facility wouldn't be that difficult to pull off for a developer.

What if it doesn't have to be "strictly" done.

On Drupal.org. There are several SMS projects

    http://www.jiffle.net/drupal/smsgateway

    http://drupal.org/project/smsgateway

    http://drupal.org/node/111609

    http://drupal.org/search/node/SMS+Gateway+module

But really, unless you want to send *TO* a cellphone, you can just send your pix or message *FROM* your cellphone to the email address. The only catch is how your cellphone provider sends pix, as an attachment or as a link. If your cell phone sends the pix as an attachment, it doesn't really matter what you are sending FROM -- email or phone.

I thought that all providers send the pic as an attachement.

I've had some people say the picture was simply at a link. That may have been when I sent to a phone, not an email address though, I'm not sure now. But since there are dozens of phones, PDAs, providers, email servers, email clients, and settings, it's something to watch out for anyway.

You could try mobitect.com they let you update your website using email or sms if you are willing to add a few lines of code to your page.
