    I've got a fairly good idea of whats going on in the world. There's a million and one conspiracy theories and the situation isn't ideal but it just comes down to one simple choice. Would I rather the US or China be the world's most powerful country?

    You've missed the point of what the congressmen is worried about. When big corporations decide to run overseas and help communist countries police the net, that sets up serious problems.

    You are right that Google can do what they want. But people never think about the consequences.......

    Of the 50 economies, 45 of them are corporations. That should concern you and everyone else.
