Really? I see you ads all the time on my site!! I was thinking you had one of the higher weights... I guess it's still a PR4, though. Would it be ok if you told us the caps, Shawn?

interesting - I'm at 27k for one of my sites for ages - google has gobbled up at least another 20k pages but my weight has not increased

perhaps 27k IS the cap ??

Shawn - can you enlighten us ?

(coz if that's so I'll put my ads from 5 to 1 per page then !!)

I assume that the cap could be 27, dependant on the PR of the page.

I also assume, that if you take the 5 ads off, then the weight will be reduced.

I think the cap is affected by a number of factors NOT just one. # (google indexed) pages, # outbound links, PR, and others that only Shawn would know.

Well, Shawn said the cap for a PR10 page was 135,000. I have a weight of 80,999 for one of my sites, with a main page of PR6...

Right... a site that was PR10 with 5 ads running site-wide would have a theoretical cap of 135,000. That's as of right now.

    Hi Shawn

    So if I have 25,900 indexed - home page pr6 - 5 ads per page - is a weight of 27k correct ?

Mmmm... that sounds like it would be for 1 ad. Which makes me think that some part(s) of your site would have a single ad somewhere that it's picking up on the spot check.

that's what I thought - but all the pages are php generated so they should all be the same. Certainly when I have a look all 5 ads appear

Can you have a look - ta

I just double-checked everything. It *did* find 5 ads on each page. But the page is not PR6, it's PR2. Check it:

    Soooooooo

If my PR does not get updated ( which could take 3 months ) then Im stuck at 27k

Even if I have 20k more pages indexed and run 5 ads per page thus only benifit is the network not me

Which is fine as it is a network so sh=t happens

Have read this post back and think I have said nothing stupid like last time

    MMM beer :p

The other option would be to make your base URL something with a higher PR...

So the index PR carries a lot of wieght in the final total even though sub pages arent taken into account

    ie
someone with index PR6 and 1000 pages at PR2 would have a bigger sum than a person with an index PR4 and 10000 PR 2

MMM time to stop posting and get a cold one

No, that's not the case... pages in URL is the most important factor.
