My day job has FINALLY decided to allow me to set up an affiliate program... We make a point of sale software that is really popular. Basically turns a PC into a cash register with bar-code reader and a full back office system to monitor and track inventory etc... The software sells for about $800.00 (us only) and my company is considering a commission for publishers of $200.00 for each sale. Is this reasonable? Is it too high? Being it is such a finite niche market, my feeling was a large payout would be necessary since our best partner right now only sells about 80 copies per month. Any feedback much appreciated. BTW, shareasale is the company we are using to control our affiliate program.
What are your best partner recieving in commission right now? Shouldn't he have superstatus and get more than standard affiliate?
Well, he is a reseller not a true affiliate so he makes his own prices and we sell to him at a discounted rate.
25% is a nice commission. I would say it is generous for your product without be over the top. Your affiliates will like it!
OK All, the affiliate program is up! Cmon and join the fun! http://www.shareasale.com/shareasale.cfm?merchantID=10540
