UPC Codes for FBA

Hi guys,

I was wondering if it is advised to send your UPC codes to the supplier in China so they can affix it to each unit before shipping to you? Many training videos I've watched attach the UPC codes after the products arrive at the owners address, however I've seen a few videos that imply you should give the supplier the UPC codes to attach to each unit before sending to your US address.

Is this not typically what Amazon FBA Prep Centers are for? Just wanted some clarification. Much respect to you guys for the answer in advance.

Frequently asked question: how many UPC-codes do I need to buy? A unique UPC code is needed for each modification of your product. Two goods of the same nature, but with a different body color - 2 different UPCs. One T-shirt, but a large size range (S, M, L, XL, XXL) - the number of codes = the number of sizes, and if also the color is different then:

UPC number = number of sizes * number of colors.

Given the pricing policy of resellers UPC bar codes (more codes - less price), it is more profitable to stock up on them for future use.

 

If your supplier offers that then why not, it saves a lot of time and effort. The only reason i barcode items myself is because my suppliers do not offer the service.
