Everytime I am crawling from the depths of ranking I lose it again. When working on density (I know a lot of seo experts say it doesn't matter) I see significant leaps in ranking with G. One day I am in the fifties, a week later, in the thirties, then in the teens. Then suddenly I am 150 in my term "scented candles". I try to keep my density below 2%, but now I hear that G uses some sort of sliding scale. I am at a loss. Why one week I am on the second page, and the next, on page 15, while it appears that the top 5 stay where they are. Right now I am using LinkVendor's tool for keyword density. Does anyone have any ideas on what's going on? I heard that Google recently went through some changes and that I should worry about temporary listings, but this has happenend before as well. Note: I am not only considering kewyord density, link count, link value, domain age, and other factors. I still don't see how others are ranking so much better with less links, and less optimized pages (or even sloppy ones). Thanks, Don
I don't get it. My traffic leaped over 1000% (a thousand percent) for the past two weeks and then today I leaped backwards. I don't get it.
Gave it a few days, checked again and it's worse. Dropped another 25-30 spots. How it can this happen? I don't want to make any drastic changes because what if really is a phase??? Any thoughts again appreciated, Thanks Don
Same here. I have a site that has been climbing at a painfully slow pace, and it was just about to break onto the first page, and then BAM on July 15. Gone, nowhere to be found... Here are my observations, not sure if anyone else has similar experiences: * When this happened, I could not find the home page in the index, but could find all the other pages. * I think this is also the same day as the backlinks update, so it may or may not be connected. But the site now shows 0 links in the webmaster tools, even though it has several hundred. * The home page is now back in the index but in the supps (due to the "0" backlinks I am sure) So at this point, I am not sure what happened. It looks like my site had a snag on the wrong day and time or google really really hates it. But I don't know why, as it is in an niche market, and not doing anything "bad". Morty
I had the same problem over a week ago, but I've just check my pages and they are going up again! I think that is temporary thing related to google update expected soon.
