Unusally high CTR today

My CTR is unusually high today! It's around 51% and that's a bit scary. On average it is somewhere between 30%-40%. Should I notify Google? I don't see anything abnormal in my logs. Also, I have not been receiving multiple ad click notifications from AdLogger.

Also, can anyone tell me what is the safe zone when it comes to site CTR?

    Thanks,
    Z

That's not a big difference IMO...
If your normal was 5% or 10%, than it would be strange to have 50%...

Ahan, I see what you are saying and I kind of expected it coming but still, over 50% is a lot right? What should I do? Should I send them an email right away?

Also, can you also answer my question regarding the safe zone? How much CTR is dangerous CTR? Also, please remember that my site is totally legit and does not force a user to click an ad and/or relies on accidental clicks.

Thats really too much CTR,normally every 10 visitors and 1 click is normal which is %10 CTR but yours is NORMALLY %30-40% CTR which is too high!If you didnt have any problem with that CTR,then you shouldnt have problem with 50% CTR too!But when you have high CPR like this, some days google putting unreveleant ads too see the changes at your page! (i noticed at my page, some days google putting totally different ads)

Well, there is no secret. Like Dordor said, you have got to experiment and see where you can utilize your clicks more and yes, colors really do matter! Never hesitate in experimenting cuz when you stop trying to experiment you actually kill all the possibilites of earning more. For all I know, Google wants us to earn more but in a legit way. As long as we play right, Google should have no problem with our earnings and no, I have hardly ever seen any irrelevant ads on my pages, that's the beauty of AdSense. Rarely would you see ads not relevant to your content.

I got scared with 51% CTR and just didn't want to get banned for no reason. Yup, I think I am gona email them to make sure I stay safe.

    Regards,
    Zee

ok,thats what you think about Google for NOW!:D But when things start to change even you didnt do anything wrong, you will understand why other people complains about adsense ;) It started very good for me too,i was making 3000-4000 dollar in a month and BOOOOOMMM,didnt pass 100 $ in 1 day earning last 4-5 months because of smart price and hardly making 400-500 $ NOW in 1 month!

PS:Smart price is 1 of the simple way of Google tactic to stop earn much!

So are you telling me that if I continue to grow and my adsense earnings increase, Google will penalize my account for that and smart price it? If that's true, how come there are premium publishers who make like wayyyy over 10k let alone $3k. Is there any way of avoiding being smart price? Would emailing Google actually invite them to smart price my account?

Any advice in this regard would be highly appreciated :)

Eventually, advertisers complain and Google does pay attention to high CTRs. Consider yourself lucky but it will catch up.

But my question remains, how come they have premium publishers making thousands of $ earch month? BTW, all of my traffic is 100% legit, nothing fake, do I still stand in the shadow of a doubt that they'll smart price me for nothing? :s

They won't. The issue isn't the number, the issue is the CTR. Premium publishers are making money on their traffic. I doubt their CTR's are in the 40s.

That people have lots of pages! They are spending about minimum 10 hours to earn that money! And hell of people are visiting their pages and maybe their CTR is not as much as yours!Ofcourse it doesnt mean you will be smartprice but the risk is high!If i were you,i would not mail GOOGLE.My smartprice started exactly 1st of September,so i guess they are checking earnings and CTR at the end of the month before payment! If they see something strange, then BAN!and goodbye to all money! :(
