Hey, Sorry for asking a lot of questions but i never really visited the Business forum before but it seems really helpful. How do i find out if the niche is too saturated or what are the chances of gaining popularity and a good share of the market in a specific niche? I ran a free web directory from March 08 - Sept 08, which finally went down because my web hosting's server crashed and lost data. It was really tough in the beginning but after 5 months i used to get around 100 UV / day without me going around and advertising it. My directory was quite successful but it didn't being in too much. Normally 10-15 cents a day and at a max $4. If i am willing to work hard without a huge capital and advertising campaign which niche is still hot and also bring in a decent amount? Thanks, Zilox
Well, I recommend that to find a high paying niche, just do a Google search for a list of 'high paying niches adsense', or something along those lines. I got a list of around 100 of the highest paying niches, and then I made my decision accordingly. In terms of finding out whether it's saturated or not, do a Google search for your niche, so, for instance, if you were thinking about 'football', do a search for 'football' and there will be millions of results. If you went more specific like 'football in asia'. Basically, pick your general niche, and, if it looks too saturated, just keep going into more 'sub-niches'.
That too bad.Which host you're on?I think the host have the backup data of your site. And you should backup your file regularly. IMO,all the niche is already saturated, but what you can do is offer something that the current provider lack of for example adult tube etc.You can earn more from any type of niche but the thing you must know is how to optimize the site for the ctr etc
You should always keep a backup, its really unlucky that it all went, I am shocked the host never backed-up but it happens... Your not going to find any area that you can have a full market share unless you have a really good imagination and create the next youtube. So after saything that go for: Something you enjoy... Something you can do better than the rest... That should give you advantage and then saturation of the market should not matter as much. If you aim to be the same, thats when it goes wrong... all the best, Tom
In my opinion don't go with a niche just because it is high paying. Find a passion and then find which passion of yours has the highest paying. When I first started I was guilty of just finding the highest paying niche and setting up a blog, within about 3 months I shut the blog down because SEO wise I couldn't compete and didn't have the passion to keep it going when I wasn't making a dime. To find an unsaturated niche just do a google search, msn search, and then a yahoo search for the keywords involved. If you don't find much competition then go for it. But also that is the simplest way and their are a plethora of ways to do keyword and niche research but most cost a little money.
I actually understand what you are trying to say, but the thing is even if i am really interested in a niche i will probably loose interest after a while when it starts to get boring. So i might as well start in a niche where i have little interest but it brings in some money at least. And as for the host, i as hosted with a cheap crappy host and i was too lazy to move. I guess i paid for being lazy .
