"Unregistered" software - what's your opinion?

I have a number of working copies of software programmes like Dreamweaver, Quarkxpress and Photoshop that I haven't paid for.

Personally speaking, I'm on a low wage and have trouble paying my internet broadband connection bill, let alone paying for the high sums necessary for these packages.

I think that if you make a living out of webdesign or whatever then you do have a personal obligation to purchase your tools for the job.

But I have never been paid for webdesign work - it's just a hobby.

I would dearly love to capitalise on webdesign and SEO, and here's hoping that I do, but until then....

... it's going to be unregistered software for me.

Would do you think?

I do not believe in it at all, you make prices higher for the rest of us who pay for our software.

So? Then you shouldn't have it in the first place............

LOL are you serious? Of course products of any nature are padded for prices for just this instance. Why would anyone need proof for such a common peice of info?

Retail stores pad prices for lost and stolen products, software companies do as well.

How about the legal teams they have to hire to track down and stop people from illegally distributing the software? You don't think that has to be paid from somewhere?

Download unregistered software and then google it for its crack and run it.I know this is illegal method but u can use it if u dont have money to spend.

 

So hide under a rock and it doesn't happen, you're ok with stealing. If you honestly believe it does not increase prices seriously 'wow' Read articles on theft of software and they state it increases prices.

I'm not about to do your work for something that is so simple to grasp no proof is needed.

If you can't afford the programs, use legal free alternatives or nothing at all.

 

I don't take it as a moral issue.

As far as I'm concerned unregistered software actually benefits the likes of Macromedia. If it wasn't for that then the internet that we all know and love and apparently make lots of money off, would be a pale shadow of what it is today.

As for it being a criminal issue. I have no idea about the law in regards to this issue. I'm not aware of one person ever being the subject of a criminal prosecution in regards to this matter.

Seriously, I guess you've never read any article on this subject, watched any TV on the subject, lived under a rock your entire life.

Businesses just love thieves, they do not pass the costs onto the consumers UHUH...

Meh i use unregistered as well, torrents are the way to go, i dont have that many programs, more downloaded movies and stuff

Even for CMS' it pales against proprietary software.

If there were decent open source alternatives for Dreamweaver or Photoshop, I would use them.

 

you could use gimp instead of photoshop. and NVU instead of dreamweaver.
