what kind of site are you running? depending on the site there could be plugins that could automatically generate the sitemap
you can try use phpsitemapNG, setup it at your web server then let it crawl your site to and create your sitemap at your wwwroot

I think almost any sitemap generator should be able to handle more than 500 URLs. However, if you are looking for an unlimited sitemap generator - it does not really exist Even Google has capacity storage limits. That said, how many pages do you have? 100.000 pages? One million? More?
