Unknown Backlinks

    Hey there,

    We recently used a backlink checker to see the backlinks of a competitor of ours. We noticed that our website showed up a number of times as a backlink for this competitors site, however we have never linked this competitor site on ours.

    How does this happen?

    The backlinks could always be embedded in a blog or forum reply. Have you checked those?

    Which tool you are using and which page of your website have outbound link to your competitor's website? Do you know?
