A couple of weeks ago I started noticing that the clicks were not matching the total. I didn't pay much attention and figured adsense was just grabbing clicks from the previous day that it didn't get a chance to tally up or something like that. Now I realize that this isn't the case. Someone has obviously stole a website and has been using it. The adsense in my site is scattered and would be hard to figure out, so I assume some bonehead took a site and didn't change it all. Now I'm in a tough situation because for about 3 days this unknown source is creating great profits for me. What should I do? How can I find out where this site is? I suppose its wrong to gain like this, but hey? didn't he/she steal my site?
the same here... money from today and yesterday do not sum to money from all channels. I think it's some adsense bug
I would say forget about it and enjoy the extra profits, if adsense ask you can always just say you don't know whats going on and its not your fault...
ah ha, like they would give you a chance to say anything before your sent to bannedland. I guess I shouldn't worry about it then. But on another question. Should I trade in my Mustang for the new corvette yet, or wait 3 more days? It's actually a very large increase.
It does seem like this type of thing is happening more and more as I'm seeing more threads about it then I recall in the past...but then, maybe I'm just looking for such threads as it's now happening to me as well (though just with channeless impressions). I really think that the Big G has something wrong with their reporting, and that it's on their end.
Set up your list of allowed sites and see if totals match up. If it does, someone indeed had copied your adsense code somewhere. if it doesn't then it's a bug in adsense..
Flippers is right. Set the allowed sites, but maybe you're getting some high paying CPM ads that don't register as clicks.
I have the same problem, in our dutch webmaster community we allso have a topic abaut this problem. For me i have the same clickamount as avarage, but they the kliks are not mentioned with the channels.
The adsense stats are really messed up today. Thies impression stats are wrong.. I know for sure.. They should be on the channels.. I've also been clicks like you that are not recorded on any channels.. But am using Allowed sites.
My Adsense is warped. I have one running 40%+ CTR (not normal) and they won't display finances for the 6 clicks. I've got 130 clicks in total but only 80 accounted to sites... Yeah Google!!!!!!!! They deserve $600.00 per share NOT
Why not? Chances are it's not a matter of 'free' impressions or clicks. Rather it's likely to a faulty reporting on a channel level. Either way though, if you are serious about where your income is coming from your statistics are way off. They tell us to experiment, find out what works best, tweak it out, and to start over. Well, with ghost impressions/clicks it's really rather hard to optimize to maintain those numbers. And if it's a mistake in getting such impressions/clicks I'd bet you'd not complain when they found out and took those numbers away from you either
Yes, the channels are not displaying properly but otherwise overall stats seems to be working fine. So nothing to worry about
Do you reckon they can ban us for something that really isn't our fault at all! ? I mean if there's a problem or a bug in their system, what is the publisher's fault??
