Did any of you go to university? If so what courses did you do and was it worth it in your oppinion. I'm going to university in september to study web computer science.
I'm in right now, studying biology. Like it a lot, definately usefull and something I want to do the rest of my life.
I took a wide range of general arts courses. I do not attend now. I took time off after high achools and while I returned, I no longer had the same motivation about education and I had a growing set of "responsibilities". If I could do it over a again, I would go to university right out of high school, I would try to get at least a Masters, and I would avoid any serious relationships with the opposite sex. There are two reasons to go to education. To learn or to prepare for a career. I opted for learning when I young and pursued a highly electic range of subjects. It has all been very helpful over the years. Most importantly, university taught me how to think critically and how to learn. IMHO it is worth every moment spent. It will be the best years of your life. Don't waste it. You have decades top make money . . . but only a very short period of time where you can simply focus on learning and people.
I'm going in September to study (hopefully) Business Management. I'm not really going for the qualification, just for the student lifestyle, I don't really plan on getting a job so the qualification is pretty useless.
I've only just finished applying and waiting for my offers. I'm hoping to do Computer science at UCL in London
I studied Computer Engineering, and got a second major in Mathematics. I have a B.S. now. I went to school in my home town, and there's a great school here for computer engineering... however because the town is saturated with graduates from that very program, it made it hard to find a job in the field.
I went to Uni in Dundee and studied oil painting for 4 years. Well not 4, 1 year general doing sculpture, printmaking, photography, etc. and 3 years specialisation. Painting was the thing that attracted me most, but I wouldn't go to Uni just to a job. Qualification yes, but that's no guarantee of a job. Recently I started a web design course but I was learning more 'real world' useful tips from here on DP, and a few books, than from tutors who didn't even run a website.
