I go to a university where there is no online discussion board. Do you guys think there are going to be any legal issues if I create forum for that spesific university? What if I create a forum for a university that already has a discussion board but it's kinda shitty... would they give me problems if I start "competing" with them?

I believe most universities have trademarked their logos, so that they can license them for T-shirts, mugs, etc. Just don't use any of the university's trademarked symbols.

Maybe you can get together with some friends and make a community and all decide to make a University forum. This way, since you'll be involving a community, there shouldn't be any issues. I'm sure you'll need people to revie and edit posts later on if the forum becomes popular. You could be the 'team-lead' and ask others to join in.

Nonny is right. Universities hold with a tight grasp logos and trademarks.

Best suggestion if you decide to use a logo is do a parody of theirs with major modifications.
