Universal Analytics Setting Up View Filters Correctly

So here is my current situation. I am currently setting up separate views for a Google Analytics account, so different users can access analytics for their specific web properties. Most users have 3-4 pages specific to them, where some of these pages are on a subdomain, while the others in a subdirectory. So for example:

    marketing.example.com/miami

    marketing.example.com/miami-1

    example.com/location/miami

    example.com/location/miami-1

I have one view setup with the following structure, and I am wondering if I'm doing this right:

    Miami Location View

    Filter Type: Predefined Filter

Include Only > Traffic to the subdirectories > that contain

    Subdirectory: miami

Will this work? Do I have to do something else, or maybe set up a custom filter to get this to work properly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would venture to say that yes - that is correct. Although I'm sure after looking at the stats a day later, you already know your answer as to whether or not this worked.

    (Did it?)

That actually did not work. I ended up setting a Custom Filter for URLs, which worked.
