    Historically, they do.

    Actually it did: http://www.incontext.indiana.edu/2002/nov-dec02/spotlight.html

What made the 2001 recession appear absent of decline was the fact that the recession itself only lasted one quarter.

Too late, I was sworn in Saturday. Oh, wait, that was on the board of the Jaycees..

Amazing, these people that say they have you on ignore, but then keep flirting with you..

    Strange.

I haven't had you on ignore in a long time. Not since I realized how much I love you.

They would seem strange to you. They want monetary reform, and to slash government spending, starting with waste, not entitlements.

Oil is over $120 / barrel as I write this. I am so excited to start paying $6 for a gallon of gas I am defecating myself.

Hey guys, come on now. Stop with all the doom and gloom. King Bush is the best! Our economy is thriving (for me at least or 1% of the population) so stop complaining!!! $6/gallon is very cheap! I'm willing to pay up to $15/gallon . Mia is right, we are not in a recession... and let me tell you that whoever tells you otherwise is a traitor and a terrrrrist. Long live King Bush and all his MothaF****g SOBs that made my life great!!!

Yes, Paul and his herd of sheeple touts slashing government spending, yet he had around $400 million worth of earmarks, 65 in all as I recall. They included important things like an $8 million request for the marketing of wild American shrimp, or $2.3 million to fund shrimp-fishing research.

Yes, Ronnie is cutting that government waste..

How many earmarks has McCain had? I know you can count that high...

    HINT.... ZERO!

With the recent surge of steel prices all of your crappy cars have "doubled" in value. Want a quick and easy way to triple it's value rather than double? Fill her up with gas.

I had this debate with lorien ages ago.

Earmarks are appropriations, not spending. If that money wasn't earmarked, it would get spent by the executive branch. Earmarks are only appropriated once the budget is set.

Paul puts in his constituents earmarks, but votes against the spending bill.

McCain doesn't put in earmarks, but votes for the spending bill.

In other words, McCain doesn't put in his earmarks, he just approves everyone elses.

Earmarks are a boondoogle that have been fed to angry young males who comprise the LGF/Hot Air crowd of Sean Hannity listeners. You're meant to flip out over a fraction of the spending in earmarks, which is money that actually comes back to our communities and economy, rather than $30+ billion in foreign aid, departmental waste or military expenditures.

Are earmarks bad? Sure, some are. But the country was set up, that the representatives of the people (Congress) should apportion spending before the executive branch does. This is to keep the king from taking the people's money and distributing it without their consent.

This is a really good article for explaining CDOs and other investment information that relates to the current reserve crisis.

Very long, but packed with info.

All you need to know is that CDO's are like a box of chocolates, you'll never know what you will get inside.
