I care because I wanted to enter, but with them pushing up the prices, no way I can enter the market at a reasonable pricing :(

Stay or get debt free, and keep accumulating capital. Enter the market when it has hit the trough, not before. Not unless you like playing Russian Roulette with your money.

In the interest of disclosure, I'm no speculator.

Wachovia posted a 20 cent per share loss and will reduce its quarterly dividend 41 percent to 37.5 cents per share

How is Wachovia paying a dividend when they are losing money?

It doesn't seem kosher that Wachovia's reported loss is only $393 million

What do the bulls think of this chart, showing the total number of "non-borrowed" reserves in the credit crunch?

The U.S. banking system is essentially bankrupt, but don't worry! The Federal Reserve will just keep printing more money! If their plan works, we might be able to turn a credit crunch / crisis into a dollar crisis.

The reserves were based on mortgages, mortgage derivatives, and massively leveraged investment bets. When the markets tried to put a "real value" to the assets, the nominal value of the financial system deflated radically.

The Federal Reserve is desperately trying to reflate, but its not sticking. Your savings account, checking account, ATMs - they're all backed by an inflationary loan from the Fed.

How could anyone still be questioning the Fed's role in this? When the Federal Reserve sets interest rates, it basically tells the markets where the best investments are at. The sheep follow the shepherd and here we are...

No, the Fed definitely isn't to be blame for it, especially Greenspan, blame it on the computer simulations that does not take into account the risks. Definitely nothing to do with Greenspan and his successors.

Do someone has the BBC interview with Greenspan's friend? Any url etc. Then you will realize how innocent Greenspan is. Pity I didn't recorded it.

Click it! It links to the full size version ;)

Where are the banks going to come up with $150 billion to pay their loans, especially since that next chart shows that this whole 2007-2008 mess is just a preview of the 2010-2011 mess??!

IMO the Federal Reserve is behind this housing bubble and the resulting credit crisis. I don't necessarily think it was intentional, but it seems like the stated purpose of the institution is beyond the scope of any individual, board, or agency whatsoever. Their intervention was too aggressive and the negative consequences weren't calculated or underestimated.
