Well, depending on who's numbers you believe, Obama bought the Presidency for about $650M. I'd say Obama is an EXPENSIVE imitation of just about any career politician out there.

You know, if you go through anyone's record, you can call them a "Progressive". Reagan, for instance, was the architect of our nation's first disastrous amnesty program. Reagan also managed to triple the national debt under his 8 years in office. As California governor, Reagan was the creator of the "No Fault" divorce, letting couples, and more specifically women file for divorce without having to prove infidelity (Can you believe that just over 30 years ago in California a woman had to prove infidelity to get a divorce? Can you say Afghanistan?)

Another interesting factoid: "Pro Life" Reagan was the creator of the California "Therapeutic Abortion Act", which opened up the floodgates to abortions in California. This from the ACLU:
Lets also not forget that Reagan brought us the calamitous, individual rights destroying "War on Drugs". It sounds conservative in name, but there is nothing conservative about a larger, more oppressive government, with a patchwork of laws that incarcerates large portions of the population based on how they get a buzz on.

Anyway, I digress. Reagan remains one of my favorite presidents. I just get irritated at all the generic labeling of presidential candidates based on comparisons to the imagined history of a dead politician. Truth is, both Mitt and Newt have much more of what made Reagan great than Obama, and that is going to have to be good enough.

Try calling Ron Paul a progressive if you can call anyone a progressive then. Fyi I was never one of those fake conservatives who thought Regan was a conservative President.

Ron Paul is a progressive. The hard left absolutely love Paul for his isolationist, anti-war views. He's politically pro-choice because he sees pro-life as being unenforceable, which it is. I have a hard time calling pro-drug legalization progressive, as of the people I know, more conservatives than liberals are for it, but one could say it is a progressive position from where we are today.

The nice thing about Paul is he is consistent. He doesn't backpeddle and nuance. He stands for what he stands for, and I think that is very respectable, whether you like his views or not.

My point? Things aren't black and white. Not Dr. Paul. Not Reagan. Not even Obama.

Wanting a declaration of war before going into war does not make someone an isolationist.
Wanting to repeal Roe vs Wade through life at conception act and defining life at conception. This makes abortion MURDER something all states handle 99 percent of the time and hardly ever the federal government gets involved in MURDERSs. This is not pro-choice.
There is no authority in the constitution for the federal government to make certain drugs illegal and others legal only through the food and drug administration at they money of lobbyists.

You actually made me go back and review what I've heard Paul say on the subject. I couldn't find the interview, but Paul has definitely stated that abortion would be and is impossible to prevent. We would simply be back to the bad old days of guys with coat hangers, and a new illicit drug market for plan b pills from Canada.

Regarding the repeal of Roe V. Wade, his argument was a libertarian one, not a conservative one.

I suppose his support for the Santity of Life Act does put him in the pro-life/conservative camp. While that may support your view of him as a conservative, IMO, it also supports the argument that he is just another lying politician. You can't say you oppose Roe V. Wade based on States Rights over federal laws, and that you realize Abortion would be impossible to outlaw, while at the same time supporting a federal law that would attempt to do exactly that. Its like Obama claiming credit for any domestic oil being created under his regime, in spite of his denial of permits on federal lands and moratoriums. Just another squirmy lying politician, but perhaps a bit less so than the others.

Birth control pills come in two forms hormonal estrogen to prevent fertilization AND post conception murder fetus abortion pills. Hormonal needs to be taken within 24 hours asap but other is like week after and the one that murders the fetus actually can kill the mother in some circumstances risks have been reported.

    Anyways Another Question....

Since your Muslim I want to ask. Is it true that Al Qaeda is really Al Cia Da meaning Central Intelligence Agency. I was watching videos from a girl from Syria that says its common knowledge that the CIA is funding and operating Al Qaeda.

That's quite a bit urban legend. I'm not saying that it didn't happen, or that a lot of women weren't maimed or killed, but abortion was available in most states if the woman's life was at risk (the ban wasn't blanket) or if she had enough money. (Or lived close enough to one hospital in the Allegheny area.)

But that's not a conservative argument, it's not a liberal argument, it's an "eyes open" argument. It's reality. Abortion has been available to women for at least 35,000 years that we know of (we've found a "medicine kit" that included heavy concentration of ergot) and it's only been a matter of concern to anyone but the pregnant woman for about 90 years. If it becomes illegal the government will have to shut down hundreds of websites that tell women how to obtain safe abortions. The morning after pill isn't the only way.

I can' t but agree with this statement, and I won't argue with the fact that a great number of people were taking race as one of the prior criteria in choosing a candidate to vote for. Hopefully, there're still those even if a few thinking personalities

That's silly. It's common knowledge that Al Qaeda is really funded by Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. Everyone knows that! :)

The IRS sent my Tax forms back! AGAIN!

I guess it was because of my response to the question : "List all dependents?"

    I replied -
    • 12 million illegal immigrants
    • 3 million crack heads
    • 42 million unemployable people on food stamps
    • 2 million people in over 243 prisons
    • Half of Mexico
    • 535 fools in the U.S. House and Senate

Apparently, this was NOT an acceptable answer.

True. The only key difference here is that the US's debt does not yet (though its almost there) out weigh it's income/revenue.
