    Pretty much sums it up.

I'm fairly confident that there were two reasons people voted for Obama.

    1. Union told them to (cause they would help their family)
    2. White Guilt.

Hopefully both one and two are no longer prevalent and people will vote for a candidate based on their experience and ability to lead this time around.

Somebody from the Obama admin needs to reign this clown in. He is clearly taking the political discourse off message with these distracting facts.

I am absolutely confident of the fact that only one's personal tenets, life principles and experience should define who to vote for. Btw, the point about white guilt, actually, made me laugh, thanks))

The same thing is happening now as in the last Depression. The general populace ran to the government and things like the CCC, TVA and others were started back then.

FDR called it the "New Deal". It helped create the "minimum wage" which was 25 cents. LINK

Wasn't meant to be funny. I'm dead serious. A lot of people that voted for him voted for him because he was (well looked anyway) black.

Hell even Nader had that one pegged: http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/06/25/nader.obama/index.html

And a lot of women voted for JFK because he was sexy. All that proves is that most people in this country shouldn't have their hands on the reins. Democracy is a great idea when the demos are actually informed. It's a terrible idea when applied to an almost completely uninformed electorate.

I'm not saying that no one actually feels the guilt, just think it is ridiculous to feel guilt, in terms of what you are not responsible for yourself. I also voted for Obama, but I had my reasons for that

The problem is most people are shortsighted and do not think. They have one track minds. Race to them is everything. They will not stop and think and consider any other criteria. Then they will spend 4 years beating around the bush pretending race wasn't the reason for voting for him.

I know one thing though: Had it been a caucasian man matching Obama with everything other than the color of skin, there would have been no way on earth he would have gotten the media attention required to catapult him into becoming the Democratic party's Presidential nominee.

I don't know about that. I'll agree being black didn't hurt, but Obama is an exceptional individual and there is no taking that away from him. Its hard to explain how charisma works, but people were quite literally fainting at his rallies. Benny Hinh says it is all in the voice.

Unfortunately, charm only goes so far, and at some point you actually have to be able to do the job you were hired for. This is why we always see Barack doing what he is good at, campaigning, and so little of what he sucks at, leading.

The most interesting thing to me about Obama is the fact he was raised outside of the US, without the mentoring of people like Sharpton and Jackson. When he came back to the US, he had none of the ex-slave angst those men like to keep alive in the black community. For all intents and purposes, he's just another guy. He views himself that way, and it comes across in his interactions with others. Consider that and tell me, are Sharpton and Jackson helping, or hurting the black community.

Barack Obama's keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention was the Democrats way of admonishing themselves from their racist sins of the past. It was a genius way of both removing the stain of segregation and racial tension which that party once embraced. The bonus was "catapulting" (as you said) Obama to the national stage and then to the presidency.

That one move virtually erased the reality of what Democrats in the South once stood for, and continue to harbor guilt for to this day.

In the corporate world, I've heard the word "catapulting" usually in conjunction with the phrase "nose bleed". You take a man from lower management and you quickly throw him upstairs. It happens so fast and so sudden that the candidate is overwhelmed by the promotions. He ends up a "tool", mindlessly doing the bidding of those who placed him up there. Watch the movie The Hudsucker Proxy.

So Obama is a sla... uh, is tied to the people that put him in office, as is any candidate that doesn't have their own power base.

Or perhaps more accurately put, Obama is a black carbon copy of George W. Bush. Your argument requires us to keep the status quo for fear of change. That seems really really really dumb to me.
