Just a few Amendments to the US Constitution, undoubtedly in response to such ney-sayers as Corwin and Mia....Yes Mia, voting in America determines the outcome of our Democratic Elections.

    Good Luck in August

Breeze, America is not a Democracy.
Once you figure that out, I think everything you've said up until this point will start to become completely irrelevant.

It is simple Mia, even you can fill in a circle.....being one of the lucky ones to vote twice in a year will be rewarding - called Democracy at work in Referenda.

    Go Wisconsin.

This post full of complete horseradish... What are people going to vote for... a ton of more debt or just a whole lot more debt ? Those are the choices presented --- in the name of democracy. The bankers want another round of printing up more money. Why would that be ? The money went to the bankers, instead of the people, and the people have to repay it. What a crock for the American people ! They get a huge debt laid on them while Wall Street and the bankers roll in the dough. It needs to stop, and people like Breeze Wood, who want to perpetuate the "big swindle" going on with the American people need to start supporting Americans, not bankers.

Could you go as far as saying people like Breeze Wood are un-American ? Quite possibly.

Yeah Breeze Wood, "Democracy at work" when there are no real choices - just more debt or LOTS more debt.
    Consider yourself pwned.

Breeze, a Democracy grants and revokes rights.
A Republic protects and defends rights.

The ultimate symbol of an ultimate democracy is a lynch mob.

...and then explain to us how your hero is not on the banker's side.

No money ! Amazing ! Where is that 600 to 800 billion that the bankers just printed up ??

@Earl, I don't see any significant disagreement between our positions. I do think there is an unresolved question, and that is if raising or lowering taxes really does affect unemployment, and HOW does it affect it.

A few years ago, I had way too much free time on my hands and decided to go through the tax bills of G.W. Bush's first term to see what all these tax breaks were that everyone was talking about. I found the "Job Creation and Worker Assistance Act of 2002" which shifted the tax tables for upper-middle class workers. I don't remember the exact figure, but it only affected people making between something like $80,000 and $200,000 per year. I found plenty of tax breaks for people affected by 9/11, medical expenses, alternate fuel projects, medical expenses - things that liberals pretend to care about in speeches and conservatives pretend to be against in their speeches.

I'm suspicious whenever a politician tells us something that cannot be verified. For example, if we didn't spend the $3 trillion, the economy would be worse now. But there is no way to check that. Politicians tell us that the new taxes will go towards [something]. But it's my understanding that taxes don't work that way. Everything goes into one big huge pot 'o money. So, there's no way to check that, either. A politician tells us they cut $500B out of the budget. Does this mean that a $3 Trillion increase in government spending over the next TWELVE YEARS is now only $2.5 Trillion? Because I've been hearing that story for many, many years.

I'm also suspicious of what politicians are telling us in public statements. Republicans tell us they want no new taxes. Democrats tell us we must tax the rich. But those are only talking points. It is what their base expects to hear. After they tell us that, they do whatever the hell want. I'm just skeptical of public statements from any politician from any party. Remember former Senator Chris Dodd, who publicly condemned the massive bonuses taken by AIG executives. Shortly after that, it turned out Dodd himself was responsible for legislation allowing for unrestricted bonuses for AIG executives. I honestly don't know what the fuss was all about - who were the suckers that believed what Dodd said in the first place?

There's an old saying that economists were put on this planet to make astrologers look good.

The Democratic Process is obviously alive and well in Ohio as well as Wisconsin.

The Outcomes will be anticipated as bellwethers for the 2012 General elections.....

We're all concentrating on the here and now Breeze. We're hard at work fixing the fuck ups of decades of democrat rule in both states.

BTW, MORE THAN HALF OF ALL THE JOBS CREATED IN THE US IN THE MONTH OF JUNE WERE CREATED RIGHT HERE IN WISCONSIN!

In fact before the 2010 elections Wisconsin's unemployment was falling - June of 2011 was a sharp increase, your statement does not reflect the present.

My understanding is the referendums have evolved due to overreaching by Republicans (in both States)....Democracy is how this country works and Americans accepting the results and waiting for the next election is a valued Heritage.

Breeze, are you smoking crack? I happen to live here. In June Wisconsin actually created more than HALF of the new jobs created in the ENTIRE US OF A!!!

9,500 jobs were created in Wisconsin which equates a NET GAIN more than HALF of the 18,000 jobs created in the ENTIRE COUNTRY for the month of JUNE!!!

    Get with the program.

You have no source for your opinion where as the source of my post shows an upswing in June for Wisc. unemployment and a corollary upswing since after the 2010 elections.

I have no idea as to what the outcome of the referendum will be in Wis. but obviously the Democratic process is being used at your expense.
