You know how government should work. No-one here knows how it actually does. Besides, NGOs do most governmental functions these days, anyway.

I've read the Constitution Corwin. To name a few recollections: it states that congress controls the issuance of currency, that you have the right to bear arms and that you have freedom of expression. These are no longer upheld along with just about all other amendments.

Bush was right when he claimed it's just a "god damn piece of paper", 'cause it's certainly treated as such.

Recovery from the 07-09 Republican Recession is the real path to the future and preserving the economic foundations that made this country a Super Power in the past has been the foremost accomplishment of the present Administration.

Turning a blind eye to the Social Networks for the Elderly and Poor, Expenses for the Environment, Health Care, Education and Employment etc. is not the solution for our future but if left unsolved will be a return to the immediate past of economic chaos.

    THe 1970s decline continues:

Illinois on "verge of financial disaster": treasurer
“Every household in Illinois is responsible for the repayment of $10,000 to reimburse our bondholders in the coming years,” Rutherford said in a statement, adding that unpaid bills and pension and health-care liabilities would boost that total to $42,000 per household.

That's the first signs of inflation.

50% of income for the S&P 500 is earned abroad. The DIJA is not an accurate measure of the US economy.

What you are taking about is 1970s style decline. I hear the sound of the US choking on Democratic 'drunken' spending.

In 1980 the Democrats controlled 243 seats in Congress vs. 192 for the Republicans. It was difficult for Regean did get anything done without compromising on spending. Even his Supreme Court nominees were mostly swing voters due to a lack of a strong Republican majority.

The 2007-2009 Recession was due to the Housing Crisis and caused by the Democrats.

    @ BRUm

THe people want their cake and to eat it too! People want the government to provide. But don't want to pay for it. The same people that voted for Carter also voted for Regean and Obama.

Margaret Thatcher once said that 'The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money'

    @ Breeze

Most of the government spending goes to pay for lavish pensions and salaries for public employees. Public sector employees make 60% more than workers in the private sector.

Iran was a symptom of the 1970s Carter decline. At the same time the Soviet Union had invaded Afganistan and large parts of African and Latin America was falling to the communists.

During Carter the US military suffered higher deaths due to crashes of poor equipment than battle deaths in Afghanistan.

    1. Banks are not lending money

    What exactly is "Obamanomics?"

Is it driving every major industry in the USA into extinction with new taxes? Is it promoting overseas companies over US companies by turning the dollar into a third world currency? Is it killing domestic oil production so we are more dependent on overseas oil? Is it no meaningful banking, mortgage or Wall Street reforms?

You should see the U.S. Government Relations & Public Affairs group on LinkedIn. People from both parties are screaming that the Obama administration is a do-nothing administration.

The working class are spending. But most of the spending is for food, gas, taxes etc and they have little left over.

Prices are going up. The inflation rate is 10% if calcualted with the formulas used during the 1970s.

The spending is the first signs of inflation. There's too much money chasing too few goods and services.

Retail Earnings: High End Up, Low End Down

Retail behemoth Wal-Mart(WMT) reported a 3% jump in its first-quarter profit, but the company's domestic sales continued to struggle.

On the high-end, Saks(SKS) posted a 51% surge in its first-quarter profit, as it saw more full-priced selling during the quarter.

Management of the Economy and the Foreign Affairs Successes bode well for the Administration when the electorate sees clearly the direction the country is properly being steered.

The Health Care Legislation of the 111 Congress, Consumer Affairs Commission, the Federal Reserves Monetary Policies etc. are now coalescing and will be the stepping stones to the Future and the springboard for success in the 2012 Elections.

That is the most Politically Correct thing I have seen all week. LINK

Even Las Vegas knows their first economics lesson : "More Debt Does Not Equal Lesser Debt".

Great swelling words like "stepping stones" and "springboard for success" are nothing more than bloviation. And what will your translator do with that word.... ?
