And some people have the gall to label me a moonbat.

Obama is about as Muslim as John McCain is a Christian.

McCain is a Christian when it is politically expedient to do so.

I agree with this. McCain's religion like Obama's is socialism.

    Well back to the economy:

Oil reaches all time highs today of something like $100.02 per barrel because of OPEC speculation. Anything oil related today are making good gains.

In the long term I think the higher price of oil is only going to help encourage ethanol production, and other alternative fuels - If I was the Arabs I'd be worrying about long term future - oil is going to run out.

We are going to see within our lifetimes are paradigm shift in technology - before it was coal to oil - as with any shift - some are going to become billionaires, others are going to be out of a job.

I know Dubai is trying to make itself a tourist attraction by building all kinds or stuff with their oil money because they know this gravy train will end sometime.

Hasn't it been over 100 before? The easy fix to every problem, terrorism, the economy, and more... Stop using terrorist oil...

One week is all it would take.

I would agree wholeheartedly with the not using terrorist oil and also limit the use of oil as much as possible using alternative sources. But one week? How do you achieve that in a week time?

And where would we get oil from? Our sweetheart deal with Saudi Arabia and other OPEC nations, has them holding our fiat dollars in their sovereign wealth funds, taking them out of circulation in the short term, and preventing hyperinflation.

Start buying oil elsewhere, and those funds may dump American currency in favor of nations who will trade for (sic) "terrorist oil".

Just stop using it... We used to be the worlds largest producer as well as consumer of oil. The first step is to just stop using it. Ride bike, car pool, walk, work from home, I don't care.. We've had to sacrifice in this country before.

Ultimately I would like to see us free of all foreign oil. Doing that would cripple terror networks and likely put most of these nutty terrorist and dictator controlled regimes out of business, even with China consuming.

A government mandate on all auto makers doing business in the US that requires every automobile they make to get 100 MPG in 6 months, or you cannot do business in the US. A move towards alternative fuels and more concentration on the use of ethonal.

Stop selling bottled water.. Its a complete waste of oil.. Stop using those friggin plastic bags at the grocery store and everywhere else. Eliminate more plastic beverage containers for a re-wash/recycled glass container again.

You'd be surprised how much crude we waste on plastic that goes into a landfill... It's border line retarded.

Encourage people to work closer to home. Encourage people to drive sensible automobiles until the automakers finally make vehicles that are actually fuel efficient. It's pretty sad when a 550 HP + Corvette can get 30MPG and the most fuel efficient hybrid SUV only gets slightly above that. It's pathetic.

One of the best things people can do now is not use Citgo. They are a terrorist gas station.

Remember, again, it is not just gas for our cars, but plastics and other crude products that could be either reduced or eliminated to help reduce our dependence on terrorist oil.

We stop using terrorist gas, mark my words, shit will hit the fan. You'll find every King and Prince in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere wanting to blow every American and convert to Christianity...

Our entire economy revolves around a dependence on a substance abundant in places where we continually piss people off... They love us because we buy their oil, but they hate us because we are either Jewish or Christian, or more specifically, are not Muslims.

End the consumption, the wars end, the economy booms, and terrorism ends.

    It's so damned simple....

I would say that it is one great step towards an Utopia if what you listed down comes true, but I seriously doubt anyone had the political clout to make it happen.

Agreed. Though Huckabee had a good plan to take us in that direction. One can only hope he either ends up McCain's VP, or gets elected the next time around.

I want to say, I really like the recent positivity of your posting.

I heard that McCain's campaign refuses to acknowledge Huck, and there is no plan for a VP slot. Huck is doing what Paul is doing. Heading for a brokered convention if possible.

Btw, you have to go back further than the last 60 years to understand the conflict between the West and the Arab world. It's much deeper than religion. I implore everyone to read Michael Scheuer and Dr. Robert Pape, two experts on the subject.

Some people mistake my stating of reality as pessimism at times.
Actually Huckabee is doing the opposite of what Paul is doing. Paul knows he will never have a chance in hell of being elected. His run is meant as nothing more than a mandate for change.

Huckabee is electable and is setting himself up for a future run in 4 years, or a VP spot. By staying in the race he shows that he garners enough support to be a real contender, and will likely come out ahead of any of the previous candidates, including Romney, should they choose to run again.

I hardly consider it a conflict. And yes, you are right, you have to go way back to understand why the Arab world continually chooses to kill, terrorize, rape and pillage. They know nothing else. Old habits are hard to break.

Energy costs were up 0.7 percent in January with gasoline costs rising by 1.2 percent and more price increases are in the pipeline due to the recent increase of oil to $100 a barrel
