Here is some news for the Right Wingers out there. The recession seems to have been blunted in the US and a great number of economic factors have rebounded. I know that is hard to believe in the face of "we hate obama" we hate dems" "we hate debt" (even though most of the debt is attributable to the GOP), we hate this and we hate that.

Just thought I'd give you a little report from the real news, since listening to Beck, Limbaugh, and O'Reilly seems to stunt your connection to reality.

Things are worse than they've ever been.. Even many democrats now are saying things like, "I wish we had another term of Bush". Someone really needs to pop that bubble you are in. Unemployment is near 20%, and spending is out of control. Things have never been worse, and are not getting any better.

Thank you for a preview of what we are going to have thrown at us for the next seven months. This is what is in the health care bill for you. Look at how we saved the economy. With a bit of luck, the unemployment rate will drop to 9% by Nov., and you can hope and pray people forget about the massive debt, or the expensive new entitlement.

If you want to know the "economic factors" I noticed the most, it was the disparity between salary for government workers and the equivalent job in the private sector. It would be the disparity between the job growth rate in the public sector and the private sector. Right now, more people are making more than 100k$ working for the federal government than there are making less than 40k$. If you want to know where a lot of that "stimulus" money went, you need look no farther than those statistics. You seem like a smart enough guy, so you should know that government bloat doesn't help grow an economy. In fact, the economy grows in spite of it, not because of it. So feel free to spend your time pointing at the places where the nation is limping by in spite of the policies of this administration. My guess is that more than 60% of the people in this country feel a *C- is an acceptable grade for our government.

*(@Mia, Will, Rebecca, etc. Forgive the C- score. I was being generous because this post is addressed at Earlpearl)

Deceive yourself Obamanation - the electorate also reads for itself and the news only gets better and will continue to do so and of course for the general wellbeing than a / your handful of gouging executives.

Who's kidding who and working for livable wages should be reserved for private enterprise only or fire, military, police ok but not dedicated regulators that will be after your beloved healthcare industry, get a back bone - competition is something you cant handle?

Competition with the government using my own tax dollars? That isn't competition (the words "You moron" seem appropriate here). I got an idea BW. Lets go into competing businesses, any business. You give me 30% of your revenue, and I'll hire your employees out from under you because I can pay them more with your money. What, you cant handle a little competition?

    People like you astound me.

[Edit] Lets not forget I also get to make up the rules that your business has to comply with to "compete" with me.

Another homosexual reference. With all the homophobia coming out of you Gworld, I'm wondering if you aren't trying to tell us something.

Usually those that express fear and hatred generally are. I'm just trying to figure out why he constantly singles me out and follows me around the forums. I've explained to him repeatedly that while very flattered by his advances, I'm simply not interested. Nothing against his sexual orientation, I just don't like very many Canadians.

I love how a 9.7% official unemployment rate would have been terrible under Bush, but it's awesomely wonderful under Obama.

    Man... that Kool-Aide sounds nice!

9.7 is the official number based on unemployment claims not counting those who are no longer eligible, the long term unemployed, so the actual number is a lot higher. And rising.

As I mentioned previously, there is 2 kind of Republicans, those who are in Log cabin and those who are in the closet. :D

You forgot to put the usual, "not that there is anything wrong with that" disclaimer at the end of your post. Once again, it sounds like you are implying there is something wrong with Homosexuals and therefore, by your logic, the Republican party. Let me refer you once again to the now credible analysis on your homophobia from earlier in this thread. I seriously doubt if anyone from your shanty village will care about your sexual preferences. Really.

I don't think that an unemployed person really gives a damn about statistics anymore.

I don't know anyone that is seeing a significant upturn in business. Almost every business I personally know & work with, whether it's a small business or 5,000 person company, is seeing a depressed income. Everyone I know was better off under Bush.

The most serious problem the Democrats have is that their cooked statistics and empty rhetoric simply can't stand up to what people are experiencing today.

What we needed was a middle-class tax cut the day after Obama took office. But Nancy "Let them eat cake" Pelosi won't have it. After all, it's not OUR money, it's HER money, right ?

It is just one more thing to laugh at Republicans. look at this way:

1-Republicans are loud mouth war supporters but they are also chickens who try to get out of serving in the army at any price.
2-They talk about fiscal responsibility but they make the country bankrupt with stupid policies and wars.
3-They talk small government and individual freedom but laugh at constitution and pass laws that removes personal freedoms and rights.
4-They talk about moral, family values and how wrong homosexuality is but you can always find them in public toilets trying to give BJ to a guy or with male prostitute. ;):D

Man: Improving economic news really makes the Pugs SICK. They hate that. These guys have to be the most anti American, unpatriotic bunch of crybabies alive. whine whine whine:

Its a recovering economy. That is an improvement. All is not good, but trends are up. That is how things work.

Here is some of the news:

Stocks end higher but in the middle of the day's range as the major averages limited their positive reaction to a host of upbeat economic data. Still, eighteen-month highs for oil and gasoline helped fuel commodity-linked stock gains.

Generally firmer trading met some resistance as the Dow Jones Industrial Average neared the psychologically important 11,000 line. It was the first time in 18 months that the blue-chip measure came so close to this mark.
First time in 18 months. Aha...doesn't that take us back to the days when Bush was in office and everything was crashing down around us?

The Labor Department kicked off the upbeat news Friday, reporting that employers in March added 162,000 jobs. .....the biggest gain since the recession began in December 2007, hm...bigggest gain since the recession began. That is when Bush was in office. Man oh man...those Pugs caused one B.R.U.T.A.L. recession to cause such horrible unemployment. (shame shame shame, Pugs)

The Institute for Supply Management said Monday its service index rose to 55.4 in March from 53 in February. Economists surveyed by Thomson Reuters had expected a reading of 54. Any reading above 50 suggests the economy is growing. Wow...growing. Isn't that great?

Business activity hit its strongest pace since April 2006 and new orders grew at their fastest pace since August 2005, according to the trade group. (this one must really depress the anti American unpatriotic Pugs)

@gworld: Some quick responses to stupid factless comments
1- The large majority of the US military is Republican
2- Care to compare Bush spending to Obama Spending? Care to compare Bush Afghan policy with Obama Afghan policy?
3- Care to compare Bush patriot act to Obama Patriot act?
4- No need to bring your personal fantasies into this.

Gworld, when you make more than 10k a year, get off of government assistance, immigrate to America, come out of the closet, and get your political views from someplace other than the watching the daytime news, you'll quit sounding like such a mindless parrot. Its hard to fight cultural legacies, but history has shown they can be overcome.

Ah, you are back to purely partisan diatribe. You should come explain how well the economy is doing to the many unemployed people in the construction industry in California. The official unemployment numbers here are 12% with over 20% underemployed, and that doesn't even begin to reflect the LARGE number of people who have been unemployed so long they don't even reflect in those numbers. Yet through it all, even here in California, government employment has grown, and taxes have gone up!

I can see towing the party line, talking about green shoots in the economy as though they were created by Obama, rather than in spite of him. It is going to take the kind of spin the likes of which God himself has never seen to spin even a full 1 point drop in unemployment numbers by November into happiness with Obama's fiscal policies. Now with all your praise of this "recovering economy", what kind of odds do you put on even a 1 point improvement in unemployment? Maybe it would help to compare it to the percentage change in unemployment this last quarter.

Here is something else for you to consider. Perhaps the recent gains in the stock market have been created by market optimism that the public is about to vote the big spenders out of Washington.

Don't piss on my leg and tell me that it's raining.

The "change" that America voted for turned out to be unemployment. But hey, that's not important right? Everyone can just live on welfare and the Chinese will keep picking up the bill and adding it to our grandchildren's accounts. Sounds like a super-sweet deal for the current generation of Americans!
