Unique visitor maybe identified to the time and the ip. Pageviews are the pages the your visitor have visited regardless they are new and unique visitors.

the difference is that a new visitor could be recently connected to the site while the unique visitor is first time in the site

I think unique visitor is the visitor which comes form different IP address. New visitor is the visitor which come on your site first time. If these visitor come on same IP address even then they would count as new visitors.
