Hi everyone, My site (http://autopinger.com) has constant traffic of unique visitors ranging from 500 to sometimes 800 per day but yesterday, my stats shows there are only 2 uniques! Anyone experienced a sudden drop in visitor and any guess what had happened? This beats me!
The funny thing is statcounter shows the number of visitors are pretty ok, probably drops by a hundred but my AwStats is showing just 2 uniques. Is AwStats reliable anyway?
Well Awstats is installed on your server..... There's gotta be SOME problem (with Awstats itself, maybe) for a drop like that.
It is most likely 1 of 2 things, either your stat recorded is messed up, or your server was down and visitors could not access the site.
Well, I m quite sure the server did not shut down as there were user activitities all day long. Anyone knows how AwStats uses the data? From a text file or some kind of database?
Yep often I'll have a day in a month when my Awstats shows like 5 visitors when my average is like 500 or something. So don't worry it should be back to normal tomorrow.
