Hello, I run an online charity shopping mall with a few friends. Basically when you visit our site, you choose a charity, then proceed to our online mall which has over 200 major online stores (think target.com, walmart.com, amazon.com, etc.. even Ebay) and we then split our affiliate commission with the charity that was chosen. Almost all of our traffic comes from the charities promoting us (links on their websites, links in their newletters, etc). This is very good, targeted traffic. We also do a small amount of PPC with Google and Yahoo. What else can we be doing to drive more general public traffic to our site? We are willing to spend a good amount of money, but would also like to pursue free options as well. Thanks in advance.
Hi , sounds great. You should try swapping some stumbleupon "stumbles" in the Freebies section here so that more eyes get to see your site. You should also submit your site to Digg so that others get to see and can Digg your site. Doesnt Google have a Charity Application for Adwords where you could get it for free? http://www.google.com/grants/details.html Maybe?? Its early and cant think so will come back if I think of anything else More gurus here to help im sure! Best of Luck!
Since we are a for-profit company, we cannot have a charity application for Adwords. I will look into using Digg, whats the best way to go about it? Any other marketing ideas, paid or free?
We do have a blog actually. We keep it updated with special deals from our online stores, news from our charities, and any news from us. We haven't really seen too much traffic directly from the blog yet though.
