Have you ever used a directory submission service ? Did you pay a pittance for it, then get tonnes of emails into your inbox saying your website has been submitted - so you felt your $20 was well spent, then you sat back watching...waiting...... However, weeks, then months later NOTHING happens despite getting submitted to 2000 directories !! WHY ???? This reason why is simple, your link ...along with the other links on those directory pages already appear on hundreds...if not thousands of other directory pages...your link description along with all the other link descriptions on that page is REPEAT CONTENT and so in 90% of cases the Google page rank is GREY BARRED because that page contains NO ORIGINAL CONTENT. The solution is to submit your links with a COMPLETELY UNIQUE DESCRIPTION each time using a long description of about 250-300 characters. Because the description is unique then google will notice some unique content on the page and will stop grey barring it. Also Google takes note of link patterns, if you use the same description many times for a link and those links appear too quick then it flags those links and gives them no credit at all. This is all in Google's ranking algorithm and is there to discredit the links put up by submitters and automated links / links bought in bulk. This is easy for Google bot to spot especially when using a directory submission service. Using a UNIQUE DESCRIPTION each time does not trigger this filter, it actually sends the opposite signal to Google - It shows that the link is UNIQUE, in other words Google sees that link as HAVING HUMAN INPUT and gives the maximum credit possible based on the PR of the page. However, submitting with a unique description takes time and effort, and that's why nobody offers a unique description directory submission service. Suppose you have just submitted to 2000 directories and you used 5 different descriptions....a few weeks later Google bot has found most of your links... EG....Link & Description used My Website - Come to my website and do lots of nice things like read my blog and join my forums. Now Google sees that exact same link instantly appear 400 times within a few days. Don't you think Google is smart enough to notice this pattern ? Don't you think they act accordingly ? 11p is about 17.25 cents in US$, so the 1000 submissions package works out at $172.50 I know the price may seem a lot in comparison with other directory submissions, which charge $20...but this way means it will be done absolutely 100% the way it should, each accepted link looking 100% natural....I don't just load info into a program and click a button, for 1000 submissions it takes a good 2 or 3 days work. Also, to the few people asking if they can just try with 100 or 50...sorry.. I have to do a minimum of 500 because of the research time, as have to research what keywords will be in the descriptions/anchor text (yes keywords in descriptions matter as well, although not as much as keywords in the anchor text) Paul
