Hi I know that is is SEO general knowledge that unique content ranks better. However, how does it effect ranking if your content is not unique? My example is I have articles that I have written and used as guest articles/posts in another persons newsletter and website. If I then publish the same articles on my website then how does that effect both the ranking on the original location (other persons website) and the new ranking of them on my website? Would it be better to get future articles ranked on my site first before publishing them on the other website? I figure the best solution is to write different articles for each website but I am trying to reduce effort... just wondering at what cost. Any advice appreciated. Cheers Craig
I believe I already stated that... it's the effect I am more interested in. Anyone with something more helpful?
You'll find it a lot more difficult to rank if your content is duplicate, Google simply hates it. I suggest making unique content, it will be a lot easier in the long-run.
offer unique content, and let google knows asap, google will judge the content according to the page idexed time.
Duplicate content is simply harder to rank/get indexed for - that's why automated sites that grab their information from others aren't that hot!
Where they're published first won't be the deciding factor in which 'version' gets favoured in serps - it'll be the site that already has the better position through backlinks / age of domain etc etc
