Uninstalling/removal of ColdFusion MX 7

I recently installed ColdFusion Server MX 7 and I chose to install it on my D:\ since I hadn't sufficient space left on my C:\.

Installation went wrong at the very end, It reported there was an error but it could only show me the error if I'd click 'close'. The installer hung up on me at that point and was unable to close itself or to report an error message. (Installation says it needs to close first to be able to write an error log.)

In the meantime it installed several things on my C:\ which was worth about 255 MB. I now have 0 bytes left on my C:\. So I think THAT was its error, not enough space left.

So I tried uninstalling the software through the Windows "Add/remove software" panel. It says it cannot uninstall because it misses information. Then I tried the uninstall.exe from the ColdFusion folder. Same thing.

After that I tried to manualy remove all of of the files, a manual I found by Google at https://service.breezecentral.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19187. That only removes the files from your webroot and the files that where installed on my D:\. After that there was a whopping 1.94 MB left on my C:\ instead of 0 bytes.

I tried to Google my way out of this problem but no answer has been found by me yet... I tried several forums and developer sites to search for my question but they all handel the same uninstallation procedures.

I'm quite desperate now, if nothing works I'll be forced to reinstall Windows and that just doesn't make my day.

So if any, lend me a hand or point me in the right direction.

    Sincerly,

    Hi,

I don't supose you have tried booting up in safe mode then deleting the folders mx was installed into?

Temporary files perhaps? If I remember correctly, the installation requires a deal of unpacking space.

You may want to take a look at TreeSize Free from JAM Software (insert Google search). See if one of the temporary files jumps out as being especially large.
