I just purchased a domain name from GoDaddy Auctions for one of my projects. The sole reason I purchased it was that it has a high 'real' PR of 3. I've used every single PR checker I could find, and all report the PR as 3 and real. But the point is, currently, the website is blank, but obviously at some time it had content, but not even a single page is indexed by Google. Not even one page. Not even the home page. All that exists is a single backlink, that I couldn't find the origin of. So I cannot understand how its still got a pagerank 3. Any explanations on this?
Google does not adjust site PRs in real time but instead do them all at once, sometimes every 3 months. So you will find a change during there next update but only they will know when that will be but many times they do one in January.
PageRank is not a rank of the number of hits a webpage gets but a rank of how many people are linking to your website and how google thinks how relevant these links are to the importance of whatever reason they are linking to the website. You can have 1,000,000 links to your website and have PR1 or 1000 links to your website with PR3. It all depends on a lot of things. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PageRank Saying all this your PR of 3 means nothing when you have no content as it will quickly go to 0 soon.
The PR is true. I've verified it from multiple sources. And btw, the domain just has a godaddy parking page right now, so how can you say its fake?
