I received an infraction today for a post. It said that I was "running up my post count and the post had no value"

This is simply not true. The post was important to alert a fellow member that they should check their PM's because requested information that they had not originally received was resent.

There are plenty of spammers on the boards that you don't need to give unneeded infractions to those of us trying to contribute and play fair.

unfortunately, you'll probably get another infraction for posting your complaint. I got one for something totally ridiculous a while ago. Something you just have to live with I suppose.

Posts along the lines of "Check your PMs" are nearly always classed as unnecessary and of no value. The reason is because the recipient almost certainly knows you have sent a PM - they probably got a pop-up telling them so.

(As an aside I got an infraction reversed today. It has never happened before so it's almost certainly a mistake!) :D

If you send someone a PM there's no need to post to tell them to check their PM's.
